Congratulations! You’ve signed your contract. Now, let’s build your dream home.
Custom home building can be overwhelming, but not with the Steve Hawkins Custom Homes team. We're “old hands” at building custom homes in North Texas, so our neighborhood representatives can guide you through each step of the home-building process with ease—from site selection to choosing a floor plan; they make this a process you enjoy.
01.
Design Center Appointments
- Join us in the design studio to pick your interior and exterior selections. During this meeting, you will learn the “next steps,” such as picking brick, lighting, appliances, and front door, as well as meet your building manager, who will be with you every step of the way in building your new home!
02.
Site Prep & Foundation
After your house is permitted and released from the city, your form boards will be set, and plumbing and slab steel will be installed. Then your foundation is poured! Multiple inspections happen in this stage
03.
Framing, Roof, Electrical & More
After your foundation is poured then framing, windows, patio doors, plumbing top-out, roof, HVAC rough-in, and electrical work will begin. Multiple inspections happen in this
04.
Sheetrock & Bricking
Here your house will feel like a home! Spray foam, sheetrock, tape, bed and texture begins. Exterior bricking also starts
05.
Cabinets, Trim & Paint
Now all the designing work you did begins to take place! Cabinets are set, trim, paint, and garage door are installed
06.
Exterior, Tile, Countertops & Plumbing
Now onto the fun stuff! Tile, countertops, tub, plumbing, and electrical fixtures are installed. Exterior grade begins to prep for your driveway and all flatwork.
07.
Landscaping, Hardware, Mirrors & Carpet
Landscaping and sod are put in place. Hardware, mirrors, and carpet are installed.
08.
Final Touches
Appliances, AC Unit, and paint touch ups begin. Final inspection and final clean.
09.
New Home Walk Through
In-depth walk-thru of your new Hawkins Home. Chance to note any concerns, blue tapes, or cosmetic items.
09.
Closing
Confirm closing date and time with our office. The Title company will send you a copy of your HUD to review, pay your remaining upgrades to our office, if you have any, and then receive your keys to your new home from the title company!
